5 years ago we remodeled our kitchen. We decided to use granite for the counter tops. The granite we chose is similiar the last square on the right at the website: http://www.sealingtechnologiesmanagement.com/ and has discolored in the food prep areas and around the stove. I once paid a professional to remove the stains, but after reading about polticing, I don't think he did it right as the stain returned a few weeks after it was removed.
My question is...how successful will granite shield be at removing the stain from the granite before they apply the granite shield product or do I have to resign myself to ripping out the countertops and backsplash and starting over?
Thanks for contacting Sealing Technologies Management. There hasn't been a stain yet that Granite Shield can't remove. Once the stain is removed the countertops should be sealed. With Granite Shield's sealing process they have a less then .006% failure rate with the total of all the customer's granite they have sealed since 2002. Once your counter would be sealed with Granite Shield you'll never have to worry about staining again.
